fgw Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Trip: Cochise, AZ - Endgame & WML Date: 12/7/2009 Trip Report: Saw a post inquiring about AZ winter climbing somewhere in this forum. This is a tr from 2 days of climbing in Cochise about a month ago that I posted on summitpost. Cold but climbable - this whole area closes for nesting in the spring though (Feb or March??): East Cochise Quote
curtveld Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Very cool! Great tales and photos. Yeah, that was my query - I'm headed down there in two weeks. WML is definitely on the list and perhaps Endgame should be as well, if we get a warm day anyway. Lots of great-looking stuff out there that isn't in my '91 edition of the Kerry guidebook. Quote
fgw Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 thanks Curt. even if you're there after nesting closures go in, the other side (west, eg. Sheepshead for example) offers more options (not to mention free camping). enjoy. Quote

curtveld Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 if you don't already know, the 2nd edition (1997) of the s. arizona guide is here: http://www.climbaz.com/Backcountry/backcountry.html Good call rat. Checked Amazon to see if there was a recent edition but that's the latest and it's out of print, with used copies going for $40 to $100+! Not critical, since there's lots of good beta and topos linked to the Mtn Project site. Quote
