zeroforhire Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Has anyone ever heard of the clymb.com? A friend just told me about it. It seems like an interesting idea. Private sale for invited members, discounts at or around 70% off retail. I heard that they do this in the fashion industry, but it is interesting to see this in the outdoor industry. Check it out. Here is an invite. (can't post invite here... PM me if interested) Full disclosure... if you click the link, you get an invite from me. Once you place your first order I get a $10 credit. If you do not want to hook me up, that is totally cool. just follow this link to check it out. Quote
jon Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 There is nothing private about this. It's just a ploy to think you are special. All you are doing is screwing local shops that can't even buy that stuff for the prices they are selling it for. I love to score a deal, but don't buy stuff from places like this when your favorite local gear store sells it. Quote
Hugh Conway Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 the discounts aren't always that special (some are merely matching other online stores) and the there's only one sale a week (so far the only sales they've had have been icebreaker, suunto, outdoor research, dakine and now zeal). $10 for shipping, and merchandise can only be returned for credit.so it's just more bullshit impulse consumerism. yay. curious who is behind it - pdx based I think? Hugh Conway Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 oh but they are doing everything they can to make GEAR SHOPPING BETTER FOR YOU AND THE PLANET! Quote
zeroforhire Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I love the green fuzzy feeling I get when shopping with companies that actually care about the environment. Quote
