You have to check back in October. It's rarely great, but I know that some have managed to do it, then. I've always wanted to do it, then, but have never managed - usually get snowed/rained/stormed out, or else have the issue that there isn't enough snow, yet. I've had more success in late November through March, although, again, I usually have to be watching the weather pretty constantly, and then going at some random last minute time.

I have climbed in October. Excellent ascent - one of my best. Had the whole mountain to myself, not another living soul to be had. It was a lovely Sunday morning on the Spur. A couple days before it was stormy so the cold temps made for excellent conditions actually had ice up high on the hill. I went up and over and then traversed around on my climb that in itself was great.

 

As suggested above, wait until you come out to make a final decision.
