looking for used rope

I'm working on a project where I take old climbing rope and recycle it into welcome mats and 3D sculptures.

 

If anyone has any old climbing rope that is in OK shape but no longer good for climbing, I'd love to get hold of it.

 

If it's in the Seattle, Bellevue and Renton area I can come pick it up.

Climbing gyms go through an incredible number of ropes. Contact one of them.

I've got one....couple of gaping wounds, general abrasions, typical dorky sport-climbers color scheme. Now worthless for climbing, but holds tremendous sentimental value. A bargain at $240. Will accept cash with three pieces of ID.

I contacted a couple of gyms and they suggested that in this forum there would be lots of people trying to get rid of old rope.

 

I will post a pic or 2 of my work in a bit.
