scm007 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I was planning on dumping my gear at the hogsback then footing it to the summit. After reading about someone getting their sleds jacked, I'm not so sure now. What have people typically done in the past? I would hate to get a bunch of shit nicked. Quote
Water Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 from reading their post it didn't sound like they stored their stuff at the hogsback, but possibly at the top of the palmer or somewhere lower, where a snowcat drove over them/someone took them/up for speculation. Quote
ryland_moore Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 It probably was not climbers who took the sleds. Plus, skis are different. Can't ride them down without ski boots that fit the bindings. I stick them in the snow wherever skinning ceases to be good. Quote
Frikadeller Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Generally anywhere above the palmer (read: not where the lift skiers can easily get to it) is usually very safe to stash gear. I have never had any issues with anyone (other than ravens) messing with my gear. There are several flat spots with rocks etc that make nice places for a gear cache. Quote
