jared_j Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Anyone used one of these ? Can attach onto an axe with a straight shaft. Jim Nelson's shop has some on the wall. Looks a little flimsy, but if someone has had good luck with it I'd like to hear. Edited April 5, 2009 by jared_j Quote
Vickster Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Wonder if my curved Air Tech Evo would work in it... Id probably wedge it in and get it stuck! Quote
Jonathan_S Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I still have an old BD Alpine shovel -- the blade works very well with most ice axes, and saves lots of weight. Super strong too so no to need to worry about damage from prying. This seems to be the same idea, but the blade is all plastic except for that small metal insert. And it weighs only a couple ounces less than the lightest all-metal shovels from Voile and BCA. Quote
David_Parker Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I had pretty good luck digging a spot to park my butt for lunch. I haven't dug out a body yet though.... Quote
TarHeelEMT Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Where can you actually get one of these? I've been poking around the internet without success. Quote
