billcoe
Anyone ever try or ever hear of any "strange" or esoteric breathing techniques to improve their climbing? I'm sure we've all used Big Lou's classic deep and hard breathing to alleviate mt sickness and improve strength at altitude: but I recently came over Lung Gom or also called lung-gom-pa which has bee used to circle the holy Mt of Kailash in Tibet. Pilgrims practicing that technique, it is said, are able to circumnavigate the Mt in a day instead of the usual 3 (or 5 days for normal westerners who are acclimated). Peakpimp
From what I understand Ujjayi breathing is good for lots of things, perhaps climbing too?
