Shawn Thomas
I'm new to the NW and looking for good sources of mountaineering information broken up by season. I'm specifically interested in specifics about climbing Hood, Rainier or others around late September to early October. Much appreciated if anyone can direct me to a good link to get me started. bradbartick
Not sure if you are looking for partners, but I am new to PNW as well and can climb fairly often, even mid-week at times. If you find any routes you are looking to do and need a partner, let me know. I have all my own equipment, etc. bradbartick@yahoo.com. rocky_joe
Late September-October...Shawn, you probably don't want to touch any of the cascade volcanoes that time of year. Everything I have heard/read/experienced tells me that the best time to be on an Cascade Volcano is when the rock is frozen in place with lots of snow, between January (weather permitting) and late June, July if it's a nice and thick snowpack.
