[img:center]http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/images/2008/11/03/img_6306.jpg[/img] Climber will be really psyched since this fungus comes from tree in Patagonia. [img:center]http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/images/2008/11/03/img_7029.jpg[/img] Obviously there aren't enough trees in Patagonia for a lot of fuel. Folks need to collect a bit then figure out how to breed it. Story But beyond the biofuel implications, Strobel said that because the fungus can manufacture what we would normally think of as components of crude oil, it casts some doubt on the idea that crude oil is a fossil fuel. "It may be the case that organisms like this produced some — maybe not all — but some of the world's crude," Strobel said. Mushroom power Quote
