i've also used La Sportiva mountaineering boots for split board touring for years. i agree, not quite as good as high end snowboarding boots, but good enough. sometimes i think split's are better for some types of touring than fishtail x-country skis or tele's because you've already got your crampon compatible, warm, comfortable boots on and you don't have to carry anything else. but, the split board does suck on the flats.

You can make the Spantik as stiff or as flexable as you like by adjusting the lacing. If they fit they should be a fun boot for it. I use mine on touring boards just fine.
