DonnV Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 FYI, in case it wasn’t already on folks’ radar, I just saw posted at Marblemount that the Cascade River Road will be gated at mile 20, the Eldorado parking lot, starting on Monday, September 15 for road repair. The notice said the repairs are scheduled to be completed by December, so I wouldn't expect it to be reopening anytime soon. As usual, the last 3 miles of road will still be open for hiking. Quote
merganzer Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Are the last three miles an easy bike ride(human power)? I am assuming that it is. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Probably about a grand of vert, and some gravel/dirt/washboarding. Lightweight mtn bike would be best. Quote
goatboy Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I've biked it. Kinda sucked for some of the sections going up (I remember pushing the bike for several sections at least) but was glorious blasting back down again... Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Well, you can look at it as 1/3 to 1/2 the bikeride up to WR North Twin. Quote
