xernrek Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 This is my first time on the forum. I posted this in another spot but I think this is a better place. I have had plans to climb Mt Adams for most of a year and thought I had some people to join me but for various reasons they are not able to come. I have 5 extra permits and am interested in tagging along with anyone else making the climb. It can be close contact or just within earshot so I can tell my wife I am not climbing alone. Anyone interested? Jim Quote
builder206 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 It's too bad your team came apart. I have to be back at work on the 8th otherwise I'd throw in with you. Are you from around here? It would suck if you are coming a long way. If you're local at least you could try again later. Best of luck to you. Quote
xernrek Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 I am relatively local. (Pacific county) I plan to go for a walk on the mountain in any case. I'm not sure how high I'll try to go if I'm on my own. Quote
jmo Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) are you taking the south climb? I might be interested in another date, and either the south route, or one of the other moderate ones. Edited July 1, 2008 by jmo Quote
rstreicher Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Are you able to postpone it? I'm looking to find someone to go with within the next few weeks - possibly early August - so I don't have to tell my wife I'm going alone. That, plus it's not too smart to climb any mountain alone if you think about it...twisted ankle, crevasse, flying monkeys. Quote
xernrek Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 My summer dates are pretty well set. I'm no thrill seeking risk taker, But I'm wondering if I just hang out near the trail head I can tag along with someone. Otherwise maybe I just won't go that far. No flying monkeys in the first mile I heard. Quote
xernrek Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 I am taking the South climb. I guess Suksdorf ridge is recommended rather than straight up to Lunch Counter. I'm not sure exactly how that works on the trail but that is what I am aiming for. Quote
