builder206 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 ...don't do business with Preferred Photo in NYC. It will be a frustrating evolution ending with a bad outcome. Quote
mkporwit Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 There are a myriad articles and blogs about various shady camera shops in NYC. Just punch in the name of the shop you're considering into your favorite search engine and chances are you'll find some info. Also, if their prices are significantly better than Amazon, Adorama or B&H then it is most likely a scam. Quote
builder206 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 I think I got away whole but it was obvious a shipload of FAIL was coming over the horizon. Quote
fenderfour Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I recently bought a DSLR and was shopping online. Preferred and a few others had really good prices, but I had never heard of them. One google search convinced me to go elsewhere. I'm all for googling any online retailer I haven't done business with. The internet makes it easier to take advantage of people, but it also makes it easier to bitch about people who have screwed you over. Quote
Hugh Conway Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 www.resellerratings.com quite easy to do research Quote
builder206 Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 I got it from amazon for $76 off retail then I saw it on newegg for $4 less. Now I hate that camera. Quote
