BackcountryBrass Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Hey everyone, The wife and I have a week off in mid July and were thinking about coming up from Portland for a 5-6 day hike/scramble. We are thinking about a few areas, namely the lake lacrosse basin, royal basin, or going in from obstruction point. With the rather epic snow year, we are a bit concerned about access. Called the WIC, no news there. If anyone has been into the eastern Olypmics or is planning on being out and about in the next few weeks, I would really appreciate any trail beta you could share. Thanks in advance. Matt Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I just found this from the WTA the other day: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/trail-closures That may be of some help to you. Quote
BackcountryBrass Posted June 22, 2008 Author Posted June 22, 2008 Thanks, OlympicMtnBoy. I think I PM'd you on summitpost regarding this trip. Really want to get into the Lacrosse Basin, just doubt it will be melted out. Plan on taking Ice ax and crampons, Thoughts? Quote
OlympicMtnBoy Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Actually I think the OlympicMtnBoy on summitpost is Byron S, who somehow beat me to it there (but not anywhere else). He probably can answer your question too but this time of year I'd take my aluminum axe and crampons. :-) Quote
