tradhead Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 This might have been suggested already. Blake's post on this subject in climbing partners gave me the idea... If it makes sense to keep posting ridesharing under Climbing Partners, that works for me too. It just seems to me that with gas pushing $5/gallon and most climbing at least 100 miles from Seattle, carpooling is becoming less convenience and more necessity. Quote
builder206 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I have also thought of something like this. I bet it can get traction. Quote
wayne Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 2 teams of 2 is safer too. This is a great idea and I will be annoyingly persistent to help this if necessary. It would have to be defined and well planned or it could be awkward. It would give the suv's a purpose other than the alone-person-talking-on-the-cell-phone that I usually see Quote
wayne Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 How about a sticky thread in the Partners Forum? Quote
wayne Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Sticky Thread-New to Partners Forum. Please support it! Rideshare thread I like the 1-5 information criterion Quote
ropegoat Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I'm thrilled to see this- I actually came up to WA for some alpine lakes action and split the costs with people I met through ridesharing on Craigslist. I would much prefer driving with climbers though (fewer stops along the way). Great Idea, thanks! Hopefully we can get some traction for this idea with climbers (like me) based in PDX) Quote
