Billy Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I took some time today to drive around to some TH's. Pamelia: You can get within 1/2 mile of the TH Whitewater Rd: Big trees down at 2.7 miles Mt Washington: Road is plowed to Ray Benson Snow Park, but beyond that it looks like it is being worked on, but there is a ton of the white stuff. Pole Creek: I actually didn't drive to it, but word on the street is that you can within 1/2 mile or so of the TH. I hope this info helps some intrepid alpinists. Quote
jlag Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Thanks Billy, i was wondering about Whitewater TH. Are the the big trees on bare road? I'll go in and cut them, just curious as if they're laying in snow. Pole Creek is good all the way to the TH. Some spots of snow but tracks lead the way, you don't even need clearance. JL Quote
Bulldog13 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Thanks Billy, I love guys like you. Back in the day (before three kids) I loved doing just that - drivin' around in the trooper checking TH. Quote
JoeMack Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Thanks Billy. I'll add that the Pioneer Gulch road (FS 2149) is blocked by snow just past 4000 ft, maybe 2 miles before the Corrigan Lake TH. This was as of last Monday (5/26) Quote
Billy Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 Bulldog- just bring the kids with you, that's what I do. Jlag- Trees stopped us, not snow. Bring your saw, and if you cut 'em let me know. I am not sure where on the road that the snow would stop you as we didn't get that far. Bring a saw with a big bar. Quote
Robert Howell Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 (edited) Wow, you have no idea how much this helps. Thanks a lot. EDIT: Actually you probably do... Edited May 31, 2008 by Robert Howell Quote
