cemmes
Looking at heading up to Thielsen this weekend and was wondering if anyone has been up there lately and know what I should expect for conditions. Mostly looking for some good skiing but will probably plan on summiting the pinnacle. It's been awhile since I've been up there and was wondering what type of gear i should bring. Would i be fine with just some nuts for pro? what do ya think?
kevbone
Its about 100 feet of exposed climbing. I think the hardest move is 5.4. If you are solid.....dont bring anything and just solo it. If not....bring a 8 mm static cord to rap off the top and just solo it going up.....
sweatinoutliquor
bring some slings for boulders/horns. I'd expect snow on the summit pitch, so maybe a picket or two... You can always wedge/drive them in between rocks if you need to. Maybe a couple of chocks, too. Should be interesting!
