CoolClay Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I recently acquired this lot of ice climbing heads. I do some mountaineering but am not very familiar with technical ice climbing tools. Can anyone identify any of these or what ice axes they fit? Thanks!! They are also for sale in the Yard sale section. Quote
fenderfour Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) The left and center look a lot like the picks for my Mjollinor. Edited April 21, 2008 by fenderfour Quote
Peter_Puget Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Exactly what I was thinking but is that Lowe or Forrest. I forget. Buried in my garage somewhere..... Wasn't there a axe length version too? Edited April 21, 2008 by Peter_Puget Quote
G-spotter Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 The first, and second to last look like Charlet Pulsar picks from the 90s. The tube picks are from Lowe Hummingbirds? All of them look old, rusty and unsafe. I wouldn't use any of them. Quote
CoolClay Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 (edited) Yes, a few of the tags say Mjollinor but it was barely readable, so yea right on. The crag picks, and a bunch of the other picks say Mjolliner in the tags. Do you have any info on Mjollinor, because I can't find squat on the web. I would guess the rest of you are probably right as well. The rust is just surface rust, a plastic scrub pad would take it right off. Thanks guys, P.S. What are tube picks, and crag picks used for?
