trundler Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Came down with a case of the gumbies and had to bail from the hand traverse. Left a #4 TCU and .75 Camalot. If recovered, it would be cool to have them back and you would be rewarded with beer and good karma. Otherwise, the TCU has taken two minor falls and the camalot none, both roughly 2 years old. Sherri Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Bummer. Hope they find their way back to you. Quote
skibum1087 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 sorry to hear that, off topic a little, was the climb at least up to where you got all pretty dry, and how snowy did the walk off look? Quote
trundler Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 Crossed a sketchy snowbridge to reach the route (probably will be gone by next weekend). Climbed and down climbed a bunch of options of various aridity to avoid the waterfall in the 5.6 dihedral of pitch one. Experienced a wee peppering of ice fall on the fourth class traverse. The topout might be a while before it is completely snow free. A snow patch on two tree ledge forced us (unwittingly)to thrutch up the direct variation into the hand traverse at which point I was thrashed and we bailed. The traverse crack was dripping a bit and on the hike out it looked like the upper shield crack was getting a smidge wet from the day's melt. It was a beautiful day, but the route needs some more time. Quote
ivan Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 you are part of a long and (not so, maybe) proud heritage  outerspace - take 2 nut tools up on a monday and you can build an entire rack after a busy weekend! Quote
alpine_sleeper Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Did OS 4/6, there was about a foot of snow on top with the roof at the top and chicken heads dipping wet. Did Orbit on 4/12 and there was about half the snow. The trail down is all burned off and dry but the gully below was quite the slip-fest. Â Cheers, Bill Quote
jclark Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 They are already out. I was with alpine sleeper. Quote
