johndavidjr Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I have an MSR cannister stove, the "superfly." The two flanges that grab the lip of the cannister only work if they are screwed down very lightly. By screwing down a little harder, they slip off the lip of the cannister. Is this normal or is the stove messed up? Quote
TREETOAD Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I havent had this trouble with mine. Are you talking about he black plastic collar? I usually slide the canister into the ckollar and spin the stove down just snug. It has never leaked. Sounds as if the stove is not quite right. Have you tried different cannisters? Quote
pc Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 If you think there is an issue with the stove ship it to MSR, guarenteed for life. www.msrgear.com The will repari or replace the stove. Quote
Chad_A Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 I have this issue with mine- I find that I really don't have to screw it down that tightly, anyway, but if you have a heavy two liter pot on top of it, it might cause an isssue...so, I know in the past I took a set of channel lock pliers and GENTLY compressed the flanges together a bit. Seemed to help a bit. Quote
