esugi Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Anyone been up on Coleman Glacier lately? Where does the snow start on the road? Probably a long shot but any recent pics of Colfax Peak by any chance? Cosley-Houston Route is what I'm mostly interested in. Or alternatively Coleman Headwall? Thanks Quote
kurthicks Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 deep snow at the moment. 18" of fresh snow above 5000' on Tuesday. Expect 4 or so miles of snowed in roads on the approach, meaning you park down by the bridge over the river. Once it forms in Oct/Nov, the Cosley-Houston stays in until May usually. It and anything up there would be a wallow right now. go skiing. Quote
esugi Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Thanks Kurt. Enjoyed reading your TR from last year on C-H route. Kevin and I have this one on our radar but we will wait a little while. Eiji Quote
kurthicks Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 yep. it's a route that i'd gladly climb once a year, given good conditions... Quote
