DrJenn Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Hey there, I am moving to the Tri-Cities for work in a couple of months. I'm worried that there won't be enough of a climbing community there. Are there any climbers in the area and is it difficult to find partners? I'm used to gym climbing several times a week, and going outside at least every other weekend when the weather's good. Thanks and hope to see you on the rock sometime. Quote
ClimbingPanther Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) I think you'll have more trouble finding a gym than partners. There's only one or two here. I don't know anything about them but I don't think they're too thrilling. If I were you, I'd plan to drive 1 hr. to Vantage & you can hook up with tons of partners from this board who will meet you there. It's pretty much an outdoor gym with no belay card requirement. the gyms I know of are at the Tri-City Court Club and at Columbia Basin College. I think CBC only has a revolving wall (think vertical treadmill). Edited February 20, 2008 by ClimbingPanther Quote
Jeff W Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 You should check out the Inter-Mountain Alpine Club from the Tri-Cities. I know they have members that are climbers. See I-MAC website. Quote
