WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Tri Cities Climbers?

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I am moving to the Tri-Cities for work in a couple of months. I'm worried that there won't be enough of a climbing community there. Are there any climbers in the area and is it difficult to find partners? I'm used to gym climbing several times a week, and going outside at least every other weekend when the weather's good.

Thanks and hope to see you on the rock sometime.

I think you'll have more trouble finding a gym than partners. There's only one or two here. I don't know anything about them but I don't think they're too thrilling. If I were you, I'd plan to drive 1 hr. to Vantage & you can hook up with tons of partners from this board who will meet you there. It's pretty much an outdoor gym with no belay card requirement.

the gyms I know of are at the Tri-City Court Club and at Columbia Basin College. I think CBC only has a revolving wall (think vertical treadmill).

You should check out the Inter-Mountain Alpine Club from the Tri-Cities. I know they have members that are climbers. See I-MAC website.
