minx Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hey all, there seems to be a number of you with older kids (middle schoolish age) or just older kids (Shiva) that are climbing/interested in climbing. Might be fun to get them together when the weather warms to do some climbing and roll their eyes at us no offense to the younger kids who seem to be the badasses of the board but i think my son would have more fun w/an older crew. sk Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I would be up for that. My kids are not super star climbers but they like to play outside some and it would be good for them/me to hang out with like minded folks. mine are 12 and 9 both going on 18 (I sware!!!) Quote

ZONK Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Minx I have a 14 year old boy who enjoys getting out and is getting better. Let Me know if You want to get out in the spring with them. What about a Kids Rope Up ? Quote
minx Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 i think the kids rope ups are great. i'm all for it. i was thinking it'd be good to find some other semi-regular situations. I'll definitely shoot you a PM when things dry out. Quote
cheamclimber Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I'm 15 and I'm up for any rock, ice or alpine climbing with other guys my age. Quote
billbob Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Hi, my son is 15 and has spent 6 years competing in the USA Climbing circuit, altho he's a bit out of practice right now. Problem is he's never climbed (rock) outdoors and is hot to go for it. Last year he was leading 5.12 at Club Sport and summited Hood once. Are you all in the Seattle area? We live in PDX... BB Quote
cheamclimber Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I sound comparable to your son. I've led 12a and TR'd 12c in squamish and I've put up a 5.11 or two at the bluffs near my house. I won canadian nationals in 2003 but now I'm content to climb in the 5.11 range and dont train as hard as I used to... but I live near chilliwack so Its a couple hours for me to get to seattle Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I'm 15 and I'm up for any rock, ice or alpine climbing with other guys my age. No kidding! I figured you were young and gung ho, but didn't realize you were that young. Sounds like you've already done a lot of climbing. Quote
