sobo Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 ...I also don't know how long misdemeanor charges stay on your record - maybe they're permanent. They are not. My MIP and PI charges (oh, and guilty as charged) no longer show up on my record. 'Course, I was 20 yoa and I just had my 48th birthday two weeks ago, so it's been a while. How do I know these infractions don't show up (at least, after some period of time)? A background check (criminal AND misdemeanor) is required for all international adoptions. Fingerprinting, too. I've done two adoptions now. Both times, I wrote to the Volusia County Justice Department (Daytona Beach, in case you were wondering) and told them on exactly what dates my infractions and subsequest incarceration were. Both times they replied with official written documentation that they have no record of me. Oh and another thing, my wife is a former Redmond and Bothell police officer. She got out of copping shortly before we met. To hear her tell it, when she was on duty, she was strictly all bid'ness. You did something flagrantly wrong or stoopid, she busted ya. If you ain't misbehavin', she sent you on your way. Incarcerated Quote
kevbone Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Cops only care about one thing……… can you pass the attitude test? If you pass (like Jayb did)…..then you go on your merry way…..if you don’t pass……you get his/her night stick shoved up your ass. In other words…..be kind, keep your voice down and start agreeing.
