Stefan Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 What's the difference between these two boots? http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=105633&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&langId=-1 AND http://www.barrabes.es/barrabes/product.asp?dept_id=15&pf_id=1146 Is it just the price? Lambone Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 There is no difference Stefan. They are both the old Scarpa Inferno which I believe are now discontinued, or no longer distrbuted through Black Diamond in the US. Too stiff and heavy in my opinion. Quote
Figger_Eight Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 Scarpa/Black Diamond is a lot cheaper in Europe. The Scarpa Invernos are great for routes involving a lot of frontpointing or technical ice, but a touch stiff for walking around on glaciers. Quote
payaso Posted October 4, 2002 Posted October 4, 2002 I have a pair and personally love em, but that's my feet. They are super solid and the great performance while plunging and kicking really gives you some extra confidence on the steeper snow. Just unlace the top portion for the approach and they are more comfortable than my leathers. I bought em used but noticed a few months ago that MEC has them for almost $100 US less up there. It would be worth making a trip up there to pick those up! Check it out and see what they are selling them for today. Quote
