Ponzini Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 A guy at work said a friend of his heard about a new crag somewhere in Lynn Valley that's been developed recently, supposedly mainly bolted routes in the .10's. Anyone heard of this? My information is sketchy at best! Quote
G-spotter Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Yep, it's on Parks land where cleaning and bolting is strictly forbidden is what I heard, so I don't think you are gonna hear any more info! Quote
jordop Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 why is Mt Seymour Prov Park any different than Chief or Bugs for bolting and cleaning, or is it in h20shed? Quote
G-spotter Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 "Vegetation removal" which includes scrubbing, is prohibited in GVRD Parks, including Lynn Headwaters. Quote
Don_Serl Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Rolf Ryback mentioned this crag to me when I crossed paths with him in the Smoke Bluffs a few weeks ago. There's apparently a faint trail off the Lynn Canyon loop about 50m (?) from the point at which the Lynn Peak trail branches off the loop. I guess that's the upper level trail, not the lower, valley bottom trail immediately off the east end of the bridge. Sorry, but I don't recall whether it was north or south of the Lynn Pk fork - a bit of a critical memory oversight... but it can't be that hard to find... I recall him saying the crag was about 10 minutes in off the loop. Sounded like there were a very few moderate routes, but that the bulk of the climbing was 11s and 12s. Have fun finding it.
