needtoclimb Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I am looking for double ropes to use on easy alpine (low risk of falling), and to be able to use one of them on glaciers. Anyone use these? They sound awfully thin and not sure how well a prusik will work on one to ascend out of a crevasse. Would I be better off going for a 8.5 model? I like how light they would be. fenderfour Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) Prusiks will hold. Consider using a 5mm perlon instead of 6mm, also add an extra wrap (4 instead of 3) to the prusik. Edited June 7, 2007 by fenderfour Quote
