illegalviking Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I just bought a pair of Grivel Air Tech Light Crampons. If I use plastic boots I will need to purchase the long flex bar so the crampons will fix the boots (I wear size 11.5). However I can fit my Danner Hiking boots into the crampons. Would advise or disuade me from use the Danners/crampon setup for a Hood Climb? Quote
Alpinfox Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 all-leather hiking boots would be fine for the south side of hood. If you do a harder route that requires some front-pointing, you might want a stiffer boot. I like your avatar image. Quote
illegalviking Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 Thanks alpinfox. Your avatar is VERY NICE.. I was leaning towards using them. We are doing the South Side of Hood (most likely the old chute). I thought this setup would be OK, but with the conditions this year I was not sure. Thanks again. Wish you GREAT SUCCESS... Quote
