catbirdseat Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Sometimes it works in the short term, usualy there is a concominant inflammation, which the cortisone stops. But then you're left with the real problem, the weakening and decay of the plantar fascia. And what does cortison do? It weakens and decays tissue? It's like stopping an oil leak in your car by filling the tank with sand. (i just made that up) It's like stopping a leak in your radiator with StopLeak. It stops the leak long enough for you to sell the car. Too bad you can't trade your feet in for a new pair. Quote

high_on_rock Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 My advice Muff would be to find some guy who just loves to give foot massage and use him for all he is worth. May not help heal, but sure feels good in the effort. Quote

archenemy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Dump him. How is your foot healing? You feeling better? Quote
sk Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 i would if he didn't do some other nice things my foot is healing. it still hurts more than i want it to. i want to go running so bad. i still can't sit on my heals in yoga or do a high lunge with that foot back... but i can walk so i am making the best of it. we were doing a bunch or Quad work in yoga today and i can not bend that leg behind me because of the foot. it is way better than it was last week though i saw my massage therapist today... she RULES and rubs my feet Quote

sk Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 update: went to the footie doc. he said i can't climb hike or run for at least 3 months likely 6 months and possibly a year or more. he said that i have to heel the planter faciitis before i can do those activities. he gave me a splint thinger to sleep in and offer cortizone if i want it. mikey when you have some time i would like to talk to you about this. the doc did plaster casts of me feet for orthodics today. i get them in 3 weeks. they will be the hard ones. layton Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Muffy, wear that night splint, it should help. And give those orthodics a whirl...your feet might be too far gone for any permenant rehab. But yeah, i really don't have any background on what your deal is so fill me in, eh? Quote
