AJ Posted December 7, 2001 Posted December 7, 2001 Does anyone have experience with the Montrail Verglas boots? Did you like them? I'm looking for a replacement to my Salomon Super Mountain 9 (Rock & Ice) that never fit all that well anyway. I once owned a pair of LaSportiva K3's that fit great until the shank broke down and then caused a horrible pinching in my toes. Hard to find the Verglas (or Couloir) around Seattle unless you go to Montrail directly, which I probably will in order to try them on. Quote
hikerwa Posted December 7, 2001 Posted December 7, 2001 I had a pair of couliors. Loved 'em. they were like crampon compatible fuzzy bunny slippers. the only compaint was they were a wee bit on the soft side. My fiance (whoa I've never typed that) has a pair of the Verglas, they seem to be much stiffer and maybe not as comfortable as mine were. Oh yeah, mine didn't last too long though, I would expect a mountaineering boot to last a little longer that 3 years, the shank finally broke. I got a pair of Makalus. Overall I think they're pretty good boots. Quote
mtnrgr Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 I got a pair of never-been-used-still-in-the-box Verglas' on www.rockandice/gearswap.com for $100. I haven't got to wear them in the mtns yet, but the feel like the Arnold Schwranegger version of my Moraine AT's that I love. If you like Montrails I say get them. Quote
