swissman Posted November 28, 2001 Posted November 28, 2001 Does anyone know if a headlamp that has both diode and halogen bulb exists? Petzl has the Duo that is regular/halogen, but I'd rather have a diode instead of the regular bulb to save battery power for long runs. Olivier Quote
Dru Posted November 28, 2001 Posted November 28, 2001 BD makes one I think but you will have to check their website for beta. Quote
Terminal_Gravity Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 The BD light is called the Space Shot. It is a pretty sophisticated light with a voltage mregulator and remote batteries. It lists for fiddy nine fiddy. BTW this query should have been in "The Gear Critic" board. Quote
AJ Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 Check out Pika. I believe they make one of these hybrid lights as well. Probably mail order only though. Quote
cmonster Posted November 29, 2001 Posted November 29, 2001 Actually, I saw a Petzel duo at the Banff film festival that had a halogen/LED mix. It's the exact same headlamp with a different bulb. They'll be marketing it the first of the year. You'll even be able to just buy the LED bulb (actually a cluster of 4-5 LED bulbs) and replace the regular bulb in your duo. Wait a few months and save some dough. Quote
