ptownclimber Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Anyone have any beta on road access to any of the above or been up looking around? Other ideas? Doing a B/C trip this weekend but only two days... Quote
PeterC Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Tried Cascadian Couloir on Stuart this last weekend. A deep patch of snow was stopping everyone w/out super-high clearance about 1mi from the Beverly Crk Rd (so ~2mi from the Beverly trailhead). Could skin continuously after a mile or two up the Beverly trail. The couloir had already melted out in a couple of places (but was reasonably continuous). Quote
gapertimmy Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Sisters info here. Pole Creek is snow free to TH, skinning after soap creek. Cascade Lakes Hwy will most likely positively still be closed this weekend. Quote
ptownclimber Posted May 1, 2007 Author Posted May 1, 2007 How about longs pass down to the creek...how much melt out? thx Quote
PeterC Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 You mean Long's Pass to Ingalls Crk? Totally snow covered. The issue is that the road is (was) impassible due to a snowdrift 7 or so mi away from the Long's Pass trailhead. I wouldn't go that way right now. Quote
OrganDonor Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 A couple people reported on another site that they were able to get within 5 miles of cold springs cg. This was last weekend on the 28/29th. Quote
RocNoggin Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I tried to do the South Spur on Adams Easter weekend. bailed due to weather and the long approach. at that time I could only get to within 7 mi of the Cold Springs TH. it did seem to me that the road was melting out pretty fast and there was also a lot of activity on the road from the snowmobilers. they were doing a lot of work to clear windfall from the road and they were breaking trail with their 4x4's to get up the road. I am sure there is still a lot of snow down there, doubt you can get all the way to the TH in your car, but getting close! Quote
