Sunnyside_up Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Looking for a safe and competent partner for either Hogsback or W Crater Rim. I've summited Hogsback before, so changing it up a little could be fun depending on conditions. Two things: I like to get an early start and I don't hesitate to turn back if the weather gets ugly since I'd like to live to do this many more times in the future. Let me know your experience level when you PM me. Quote
ivan Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 if you've done hogsback, then go do luethold's next! then the cooper spur. then the sunshine. then the reid, the sandy, the north face, etc. Quote
Kevin_Matlock Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 ivan, you'd do luethold, cooper, THEN sunshine???? never been on sunshine, but JT in Ore High makes it sounds like a relative cake walk.... almost hogs back in nature. Quote
ivan Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 there're all pretty much the same - the sunshine has the most glacier travel of all the routes, and last summer i missed getting squished by a megaton of calving ice by only about 5 minutes while just below horseshoe rock Quote
Sunnyside_up Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 Did a reconnaissance trip to Cooper last Sept. and it looks pretty doable...just not in late summer--rockfall every few minutes. Wonder how it looks now and if that road is clear. Holga collage from late Sept. Quote
