iain Posted July 31, 2002 Posted July 31, 2002 Anyone have any favorite routes in this area? I might have a chance to go in to Great Cairn late August to have a go at Sir Sandford. I'm also looking for some moderate (5.7ish or lower), but quality routes in the Adamants. If there are some anyone can recommend, I'd like to know. I have access to Putnam, old CAJ etc, so you don't need to point me there. Just was hoping for some first-hand info. Thanks, -Iain Quote
mattp Posted August 5, 2002 Posted August 5, 2002 The face on Pioneer that rises above the Granite Glacier is an easy and enjoyable ice climb, guarded by a technical ‘schrund. (On my one and only climbing trip up there we were only able to do that one climb before we had 8 days of rain and it was time to go home, but if this happens to you the Fairy Meadows hut is a pleasant place to read books and cook all the food left by the springtime ski parties.) Dru Posted August 6, 2002 Posted August 6, 2002 Jones and his merry crew are up in the region right now ticking off FAs left right and centre so you better do some now to make sure your name appears in Selkirks North Quote
