high_on_rock Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 About 5 years ago I climbed Cascade Falls in Alberta; not a highly technical route but just my speed. Does anyone know a site that I can check the ice conditions at CF currently? Quote
pindude Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 (edited) E, Check out Will Gadd's ice climbing pages, which start from his website here: http://www.gravsports.com/ Cheers, S Edited to add: Looks in, photo here from Will's site from Dec. 13. On Cascade, always have to be aware of snow in the bowl above for avy danger. Edited December 23, 2006 by pindude Quote
Bogen Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I drove past it a week ago, it looked great. Anyway, there is a ton of routes with similar length, grade, quality, exposure and view, that are seldom climbed (read "no line-ups") in the vicinity. Just go, man! Quote
G-spotter Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Cascade is in the Accidents in North American Mountaineering, pretty much every single year. Either avalanches or Hood Pearly Gates type clotheslining falls where one team takes out everyone below them. Quote
kurthicks Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Climbed it two days ago. it's in, but sun rotted at the top. Quote
