I watched it last night and sobbed. I couldn't help holding out hope for the people even knowing what happened. So fucked up.

I was impressed with the balance of portraying the awful gravity of the crime with the sincerity of the muslim devotees; mindblowing.

 

The cellphone calls from those on the plane to loved ones was gut-wrenching.

 

 

anyone willing to question the timing of the release of this movie in the summer before midterm elections or, for that matter, the timing of Arch's post?

That's exactly when I started really crying.

Makes you realize what's important in life. When you know you are going to die, all the stupid shit we bother ourselves with doesn't matter--not work, not pet peeves, not enemies. The only thing that mattered to each of those people was to call and say "I love you" to their families.

Once a person knows they are about to die, Everything that matters becomes clear and the most basic need for most sane people in the world is the need to be loved. And a person who is about to die needs to express to the people they love how they feel. Nothing else matters at the point.

I had a Friend die in My arms years ago, and the only thing He could worry about at that moment was making sure his Mom & Dad knew He loved them.

Good movie, but the "MTV-style" editing was annoying and gave me a headache by the end.

 

Anybody seen the other 9/11 movie...the one with Nicolas Cage?

IMPO, the important thing is to remember shit like this all the time.

 

I hate to say that any thread on cc.com was right on the mark but, before all the spray, the "If I died tomorrow...." thread was alright.

 

If you died tomorrow, would you have been satisfied with your accomplishments, would your loved ones have known that you loved them, or not?

 

I try to remind myself every day to do something worthwhile (to me, not to everyone else) and to let my friends and family know how much they mean to me.

 

That doesn't mean that I'm always successful, or that I wouldn't be disappointed if I died (notwithstanding the fact that I'd be dead) but it does mean that I TRY!!!!
