RideT61 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Thinking of climbing the Blackcomb Buttress with the wife this weekend. I plan on saving the money ($28.50) for the "Alpine Hiking" lift ticket and hiking up to the base of the route. I'd like to save my knees on the decent though, anyone know if you can down load for free? Quote
gertlush Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I'm not sure about the ride down, you'd probably be ok. Watch the time though, the chairlift stops running pretty early (like 2-3pm). I learned that one the hard way....enjoy! Quote
jordop Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Holy Jesus thats a LOOOOONG fucking hike to do a scramble route You'd probably get away with the download cause there aint many people scammin the system doin that, but to squeeze it all in before the lifts close you're looking at a really early start. If you're that cheap, go do Tricouni, better summit anyway Quote
Ponzini Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I'm not sure that Blackcomb is still open, the last few years they've closed it once summer skiing is over (usually early August) and only run the Whistler gondola in August and Sept.... Quote
jmace Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 pretty sure blackcomb closed over a month ago..little late for that one Quote
