cj001f Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Anyone have recomendations for weather forecasting/science books, courses, etc? esp Mountain weather? (beyond the mountainsteers publication) Quote
fenderfour Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Jeff Renner does a class every year, probably through the Mountaineers. Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Slaughter a chicken and read the entrails. It always rains on 4th of July. late-May to early-June is always wetter than people expect. Usually there's a cold-clear spell in late Dec and again in mid-Feb. If you have steady high pressure forecast, the weather is usually bomber, aside from thunderstorm activity or the Pickets. Quote
archenemy Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Slaughter a chicken and read the entrails. They say that the weather is shit. Quote
Alpine_Tom Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 weather forecasting is aid, isn't it? Jeff Renner did write several books about mountain weather forecasting, but they're all published by the Mountaineers, so they probably fail your high requirements. Quote

Yes, he did write several editions of a Mountain Weather book that I own. So other rec's would be useful - I was more interested in general weather, but couldn't resist the chance to get a few mountie manties in a twist Quote
