wayne Posted May 29, 2001 Posted May 29, 2001 The snowfield below the Sitkum Glacier route on Glacier Peak Has hidden bergshrund(crevasses) near the top of said snowfield ! There was a crevasse rescue performed there on a solo inexperienced climber there Memorial Day weekend.He was in it all night before he was discovered.If in doubt, rope up. The victim was extracted and found to be in good shape lucky for him! Quote

Cpt.Caveman Posted May 29, 2001 Posted May 29, 2001 It was plainly a not so smart or inexperienced move. Hopefully Homeboy learns his lesson. I imagine someone else might have but that is usually because there is something about people in the Northwest climbing across glaciers unroped quite often. I dont know what to think about it sometimes other than possibly dumb, inexpeperience, lazy\lackadaisical, or arrogance. I have been guilty of all these myself but I don't think I would have done what this guy did period. Especially in Jeans and Tshirt so late. Bottom line is good thing he is ok. Quote

If so, you should know that you managed to offend everyone to whom you spoke, in what was already a very stressful situation. How have you gotten away with such behavior for so long? Is it possibly because you're female, cute, can climb, and wear short shorts up the mountain?
