wdietsch Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Wondering how much has melted out. Anyone been into the Goats Rocks within the last 1-2 weeks? Quote
fettster Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I would think you could definitely get to the Berry Patch trailhead at 4600 feet. I haven't seen any posts anywhere from the area since being there myself in late April. North of Mt Jefferson last weekend we were able to take a forest road until about 5000 feet where a 3 foot or so patch of snow still lingered. Depending on where you start you will probably be making your own route once you hit snow on the trail. Have fun! Quote
fettster Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Another option for info would be to try phone the Cowlitz Ranger station. Here's the GPNF road conditions page, with the phone number there as well: http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/recreation/current-conditions/roads.shtml Quote
RogerJ Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 I called yesterday (6-13). They did not have a current update, but the 21 road is open, and 2150 still has up to 2 feet of snow on it. Snow levels were at 3800 feet as of 6-6. I am calling again tomorrow for an update. -r Quote
fettster Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Did you get up there this last week, and if so, how was it? I've always had a great time when I've been there. Quote
