wannabe Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I was on a recent trip and thought that a snow shovel blade that would mount on my mt axe would be very handy for some basic camp duties rather than packing in a seperate snow shovel. Anyone know of a good maker of such a device? I might have to rig a lame home made version if not. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Quote

pup_on_the_mountain Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Sorry for the thread shift ... I recently bought a snowclaw - the aluminium one. Seems adequate for moderate uses in an alpine climb, and will probably be lighter than a blade which fits the shaft of your axe. You won't be able to rescue someone buried in an avy though . Any one else has any experience/opinions on the snowclaw? Quote
