dkemp Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I am considering the Chinook Pass area for some snowcamping and drills practice. But I havent spent time there, just looking on the map. Was wondering if its a snowmobile place. Anybody know? Quote
sobo Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Dox, Sadly, yes it sees it's fair share of snowmobiles from the east side, depending upon where you're headed (don't know about from the Crystal Mountain side). Off of SR 410, where the Little Naches river crosses beneath the highway, is the turn-off for Forest Road 19. This road goes to Kaner Flats, heavily used by sled-heads. They park and unload here, and take off northwest towards Raven's Roost, and many make the run over Naches Pass, skirting the Norse Peak Wilderness Area to the north, and end up all the way over in Greenwater. If your intended location is anywhere along this line, think about going somewhere else. Cheers! Quote
JoshK Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 wouldn't the snoparks be closed by now? Seems in that area the snow might be thin enough now where the sleds start out. Quote
