shapp Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Anyone know anything about these features, climbable or total choss? Also any info on Hapgood Rock just to the Northwest of Morton. Looks pretty interesting from binoculars. Quote
Off_White Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I've been to Pinto, which is pretty cool, and contemplated checking out the others. Pinto is sort of conglomerateish, with hints of welded tuff, great views with stellar huckleberry picking. I suspect it's somewhere between total choss and climbable. Let us know what you find! Kirk Rock Unless you meant this Kirk Rock, which is in the Alabama Hills Big Craggy and Shark Rock from Hat Rock Quote
Off_White Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Ooooh, more google image goodness: Pinto Rock Pinto Rock Pinto Rock - There's a sport route right of the buttress Cobble slinging for pro? Quote
shapp Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Please no more Pinto rock stuff, already know about that, stick to topic Quote
Off_White Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 oh, well, then nevermind, I don't know anything. Quote
sobo Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 The Kirk Rock photo (the Shatner one, of course) is just pure O_W classicness! Isn't that the episode with the Gorn (walking man-sized lizard thingie) that Kirk defeats by making a crude gunpowder and bamboo cannon that uses obsidian projectiles? Episode name, please, O_W? "The Arena" comes immediately to mind, but I'm old... Quote
Off_White Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Little Known Fact: Bill Shatner is a registered user at CC.com, but has never posted and seldom visits. Quote
sobo Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I checked the User List, but couldn't find him... I didn't check all the possible permutations of his username, just the Bill Shatner one. He's prolly just lurkin'... Quote
