JoshK Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I've been gone for a while and just got back to WA. I'm hoping to head up this week during the nice weather. What is the general makeup of the snowpack at this point? What instabilities still lurk? Unfortunately the NWAC is shut down, so I just want to get an idea of what things are like out there. thanks, -josh Quote
Mal_Con Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 We were up at Alpental yesterday. If you are off the pack you could get a good sluff started with little problem. Then it snowed a few more inches. The snow was soft for at least the first foot or so with several hard burried layers. 3-5' on the ground at the base but a lot od soutnern exposures are bare to about 5k. 7-10' at paradise. Quote
