Sensitive Thought

Viewing the colors, patterns, and styles of clothing in ChrisT's link to JTree fashions has placed me in a contemplative sensitivioso mood.

Consider a basic philosophical article of faith that being an "I" - in other words, possessing a sense of self so deep and eradicable that it blurs into causality - is an inevitable concomitant to, and ingredient of, the flexibility and power that are synonymous with intelligence, and that the latter is but another term for conceptual flexibility, which in turn means meaningful symbols.

And how is it that inanimate matter gives rise to animate beings that attach meaning to meaningless symbols and derive pleasure from patterns of light and vibrational frequency that we call color/art and music when we are simply, as poet Russell Edson phrased, "teetering bulbs of dread and dream" or, as Hofstadter phrased, "gooey lumps encased in hard protective shells mounted atop mobile pedestals that roam the world on pairs of slightly fuzzy, jointed stilts"?

Can I get a witness?

I think you just healed my inner child.

It's okay, have a good cry; that's what the Cafe Sensitivioso is for. I know that's why I frequent this haven of emotion.

In your condition, (pregnant with thought and inner child), it's understandable that your hormones will hold sway with your emotions intermittently. We are here to support you.
