fheimerd Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Need another team of two to ride into the Waddington-Combatent Col between end of July and beginning of August, statistically the best weather window. Cost if 550 for passenger if we get 4 alltogether. Not looking for climbing partners just a ride share. Quote
G-spotter Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Two outdoor photographers are going to be flying into the Waddington Range in the 1st week of August. We are looking for 2 others to join us to help reduce the cost. We will be carpooling for the 12 hr. drive to Bluff Lake in the Chilcotin and then flying with Mike King of Whitesaddle Air into a base camp at either the Plummer Hut (8800 ft)or Nabob Pass/Memorial Point (7200 feet)just down the ridge. We plan to spend a full week at and around camp taking pictures and soaking in the wildest mountain scenery of BC! Wherever we go, the two extra members of the team should be self-sufficient. This is not a guided trip! Feel free to take off and climb something if you are inclinded. We are lame mountaineers so we will be just trekking around the glaciers without climbing anything that looks even remotely hard! From the Plummer Hut we will be able to trek up the Upper Tellot glacier to about the 10,000 foot level for a breathtaking view east into the Coast Mountains. The heli fare is about $2400. With 4 people the cost for the flight is about $600. If we only get one other person, the fare will be $800 each. The approx. schedule is as follows: Sat July 29 - drive to bluff lake Sun July 30 - Fly into camp Sun Aug 6 - Fly back to base Monday Aug 7 - Drive back to Vancouver If interested send an email to: Scott Pick at: scottp@palladium.ca I see some synergies here....
