nat Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Hey, this is the Nat who ran the Oly gym from 1997 to 1998 as Capitol City Climbing Gym. If that means nothing to you, never mind. I'm in Portland now and have a new garage wall in need of crankers. Some of the old gym holds are on the wall! And yes, it's steep. If anyone wants to climb, let me know. Or if you have any suggestions as to folks I should talk to, please let me have 'em. I've tried to get into the PRG scene, but I couldn't find enough love. -Nat Quote
magellan Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Oh. I thought it said garbage climbing. That would describe my style. Oly, are you still getting royalties from that gym? Quote
billcoe Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Awesome, I'm there. I can always cheer if the holds are too small. Quote
Off_White Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hi Nat. I forwarded your offer to my son, who's now 24 and living in PDX. Quote
Drederek Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hey Nat how's it goin? Its been awhile since you bailed me out on the last pitch of Davis-Holland and Lovin Arms up at Index. I'm still in Olympia, working about a block and a half from your old garage woodie there. You should come up to Off Whites quarry some wednesday, there may be something hard enough to interest you there. Good luck on hooking up with some sick crankers down there. Quote
nat Posted April 7, 2006 Author Posted April 7, 2006 One of my more-humbling moments, Duke: fall off the 5.8 (or was it 5.6?) first pitch, walk up the last 5.9 face pitch. I'm glad there was a face pitch to show you the meaning of climbing. Quote
nat Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 It's on! The garage wall is up, mattresses are down. Regular Monday & Wednesday nights, more as time goes on. 200 more holds go on at the end of the month. Pictures here. Quote
Backwoods Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Nat: New to PDX and if I am reading correctly, this is an invite for some evening sessions on your woodie..? If so, I am game and i'll bring some love, although there does seem to be loads more here out west than back east. Let me know. Cheers! Quote
Ffej Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 What part of town you in. I love the vibe of a garage or backyard woodie. It's a great place to meet people who climb. Look forward to hearing from you. Quote
nat Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 I PMed you guys. Anyone else, PM me if you're interested. Quote
