steepandcheap is kind of a strange marketing campaign. they don't even really hint they are backcountry.com yet they advertise these incredible deals w/no mention of the main website. They must be making dirt off of these things. I suppose they are just clearing house. You could _easily_ resell these.

You won't make that much after eBay fees, etc. forakers right - they get dumped on eBay and depress the market. not sure how he's never found anything on sac, they cover about every base at some point.

I haven't been watching it that long and I've been mostly buying mountaineering stuff lately and not Nixon watches or sunglasses or day packs. :-P I also don't snowboard, and I don't think I haven't made any kind of move towards needing AT stuff. I'm not that good a skier yet. My main goal now is to get back into mountaineering. Most of what I need I don't think I'll ever see there. It's kind of like waiting for them to put C4 Camalots on sale for 25% off.......

I have a pair of 29's with new liners (never baked) that I bought 3 months ago that I have used 6X. Bought a new pair through S&C.com, so I don't need these - anyone need some that missed the sale? I see they are selling them at bc.com for $385 (Still a good deal)

Volume, volume, volume. Click on the discuss button - back to topic list - and they'll give you the numbers on every item that sold out. As an example, yesterdays:

Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket - Men's

This is todays item, have at it!

$131.25 (originally $349.95)

The last one went on Wednesday, March 15 2006, 01:39 AM.

We sold 147 items for a total of $19293.75.

An item was sold every 0.67 minutes.

Back of the envelope puts them at $5-6 million a year
