chris Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 How is it? I've been following the telemetry at Stevens Pass, which actually gives a measure of hope. NWS calls for a 3000' freezing level, which may be optimistic. Any actual observations? Quote
kurthicks Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 very wet here in Leavenworth tonight. calling for lots of rain tomorrow. Stevens is "suspending operations" tomorrow, but reopening on Monday. I'm going to scope the icicle tomorrow after present opening... I'll report back. Quote
kurthicks Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 12.25 my girlfriend and I climbed out in the Icicle today. we did a little route (60m, WI2+) just left of Icicle buttress. Saw a climber leading Rainbow Falls Right. hubba hubba climbs still looks pretty good. the careno climbs are still standing; the left route looks to be leadable still. most everything is getting pretty rotten though. drury is starting to fall down. most of the drip is gone. there is a crust layer forming on top of a slushy snow layer. could mean bad things for avy danger. with some cold temps this week though things will be FAT in no time. jessmcclay Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Hi Ya! Tried to TR Leavenworth, Rainbow Left and Right on 12/24, however too much rock was rubbing for the set up. About Carreno Falls, is there any way to TR that? Still working on getting gear and learning to Lead, so sticking to the top rope guys. Thanks! Quote
